The fourth of July is a very bittersweet day in our family. It is a wonderful holiday as well as the anniversary of my dad's passing. This year marked our third year without him here on Earth with us. Independence Day was one of his favorite holidays and we love being able to celebrate his life on one of his favorite days of the year surrounded by family. Here's a peek into our holiday via the iPhone camera:
We started out the day with a delicious lunch outside at my Aunt Doe and Uncle David's house complete with swimming.
Baby Boston even made one of his first outings!
Later that afternoon we took out Mom's boat on Lake Hudson. It just doesn't feel like the 4th of July without being out on the water.
Momma's still got it!
And it was a bit nerve wracking pulling her on skis... Thankfully, I did okay and nobody got hurt. :)
And Heidi braved the kneeboard! With Uncle Bub, of course.
After the lake fun we headed to J's parents house in Peggs for dinner, fishing and fireworks with his fam.
Little McKenzie caught one!
These cuties even matched for the fireworks show. ;)
I wish I would've taken more and better pictures of everyone. But it was an incredible day with the people I love most.
